Bespoke Website Design for a Decorative Arts Company

31st October 2014

We’ve just put the finishing touches on a bespoke website design for a decorative arts company based in London. They liked their original design, which showcased their beautiful work, so we didn’t make any major changes apart from making it more responsive and user friendly. The main updates were to the CMS and user experience.

With over 40% of web traffic now coming from mobiles, it’s essential that business websites are responsive to cater to this audience. Surveys have shown that if a visitors has a poor web experience on your site, they will leave and they’re unlikely to return (especially if your competitors have better functioning sites!). DKT’s new site works well on mobiles and tablets, as well as desktops, so that their visitors can enjoy the design and feel of the site across all devices.

Their previous CMS was also extremely limiting and didn’t let staff make the changes that they wanted – that meant that it was difficult to update their news section and they couldn’t add new work to the site. Our content management system is extremely intuitive, so with a little training all of our clients find it considerably easier to post updates and manage their site on a day to day basis.

We love working with clients who have such stunning visuals – the photography and beautiful craftsmanship really make an impact, and we hope to see more of their exquisite work soon!

Most school websites are written for the wrong person. They are written for governors. For inspectors. For the school itself.
