Does Social Media Have A New Home?

15th February 2012

Home Billboard Advertising | Social Media

This week we saw something very strange happen over in the U.S.A. A quiet neighbourhood in a Los Angeles suburb was transformed when a house on the street was painted orange and green with social media logos such as Facebook and Twitter printed on the wall. But this wasn’t a ghastly home improvement project gone wrong. It was actually the debut of a new, unusual scheme that some experts have suggested could save the housing crisis.

The new scheme offers homeowners a unique opportunity to have their monthly mortgage bill paid for in exchange for advertising space on their home and since the project was proposed there has been a huge response with over 38,000 applicants prepared to turn their home into a giant billboard.

Innermedia love this idea but we think we’ll stick to what we do best, social media and promotion online, rather than on our homes.
