New Shopping Feature for Instagram Stories

29th June 2018

Instagram is now allowing a select number of e-commerce brands to add a new shopping bag feature to their Instagram Stories.

This feature will display more images and include more details about the product, including a description and pricing information.

Instagram reports 300 million people are using Instagram Stories daily, looking for the latest trends and styles. A recent user survey by Facebook, found that people watch Instagram Stories to “stay in the-know with brands they’re interested in and find out about new products that are relevant to them”.

Brands have always been early adopters of the Stories feature and Instagram recognises that brands are creating some of the most viewed and engaging content on their platform.

Starting with brands like Adidas and Aritzia to Louis Vuitton, Instagram say now you can shop from select brands in Instagram Stories with more coming soon.
