We always advise our clients to work on SEO for long-term growth but use PPC for immediate traffic and conversions. That way, you can slowly reduce your spend on PPC as your rankings improve through SEO, meaning that you can reduce the amount you have to invest in marketing over time (or just move your PPC spend into SEO where it will provide more long-term results).
