Luxe Watches specialise in luxury, classic, and contemporary luxury watches from brands such as Rolex, Cartier, Audemars Piguet, and Patek Philippe. They needed an e-commerce site that showed off their products to full effect while offering clients the same luxury experience online as they’d expect in-store.
This meant a clean design, fast site, excellent user experience, and simple check out process, as well as making it easy for Luxe Watches to update the website when a watch was sold or new watches came in.
Luxury E-Commerce Design
The luxury e-commerce space is becoming increasingly crowded, and customer expectations are at an all-time high. Large luxe sites such as Net a Porter and Astley Clarke proved that people are willing to spend thousands on a single online transaction, while simultaneously setting the standard for what these sites should look like.
Consumers expect to be able to filter on a huge variety of options, which is why every watch on the Luxe Watches site has 50 attributes assigned to it – visitors can filter on any attribute including brand, size, year, case material, bracelet material, and gender.
Luxe Watches’ site already had good SEO when transferring to us, so we were careful to maintain all of the existing URLs when transferring to our CMS so that they could retain all of their existing rankings. Redirects typically retain the majority of SEO benefits, but do lose some – using the same URLs meant that Luxe Watches didn’t have to worry about slowly losing their established rankings when they upgraded and improved their site, or having to re-do the same work again.
